rebekah
YOGA INSTRUCTOR
Pronouns: She/Her
Teaching Style: Do you, boo
Favorite Pose: Anything with lots of pillows
Bio: I have been rolling around on the floor since I was a baby, and I ain't stopping now. I have experienced and witnessed the supernatural effects that gentle somatic movement and easeful breathing have on the nervous system - which I believe, infuse the world with greater peace.
I teach yoga in the way I want to be taught. Loosely. I trust my body to move me where I need to go, if I'm able to listen. So I create a space of deep listening to one's own body. Every movement has nuance and a purpose. You will not do a million chaturanga in my class. Unless you really want to.
Even in moments of challenge, there will also be s p a c i o u s n e s s.
Off the mat, I dabble in embroidery and study Ayurveda in my free time. I am an herbalist for my family and friends and created the brand Herbekah Dharmaceuticals which features the medicinal plants of my recent home in the Pacific Northwest. I am a singer, a long Reiki-infused hug giver, and a lover of all that is silly.
I work as a Flexologist with StretchLab, where my experience (over a decade) in yoga and dance allow me deep respect for one-on-one attention and assisted stretching.
If you like hands-on adjustments in class, I got you. ;)
I madly deeply respect everyone courageous enough to slow down and get present with the mystery that is unfolding here before our eyes. When we take care of ourselves, we can show up for others. When our bodies and minds are strong and healthy, life gets better.
I am grateful to have landed in this community, and I look forward to knowing you.
